It doesn’t matter if you’re a parent, guardian, carer or teacher – you want the best for your kids/students. While they may still be more occupied with their social lives and having fun, you know how important it is for them to make the right choices now. We’re sure they know too, but sometimes it’s good to have those closest to you help point you in the right direction.

We hope that this information will help you to help them make the best possible decision on how to start their careers. We’re going to tell you how you can support your child/student to grow and succeed in the way they want to.

Learn whilst they learn

We know you’ll want your child/student to feel supported, receive great training and to have loads of fun! That’s exactly what we do.

Starting out in a large organisation like ours can be a little bit scary for some but we have strong teams in all our dealership and an Induction and Training coordinator who looks after all our new employees from their first day right to the end of our probationary period of 6 months. We also appoint a mentor to all new recruits and ensure they have a role specific training plan to ensure that key millstones in their first 6 months are being met.

Training that works

We have lots of different ways for your child/student to learn and develop. Depending on the role we can spend in excess of £50k ensuring that they meet the standard of the manufacturer and are completely comfortable in their chosen career. Training can be online, on-the-job or college/classroom based, depending on the role.

Valuing Contributions

Your child/student deserves to live a well-balanced life, plan for the future and enjoy a few extras along the way. Our great range of rewards and benefits has these covered. We have discounts with over 500 retailers and eateries (including Apple, Domino’s, Argos, HMV, Miller & Carter Steakhouse and various cinemas) so our staff can save hundreds.

Keeping on top form

Your child/student should be healthy and happy at work. We take Health and Safety very seriously and work to ensure that health screening is in place. We also have our own Facebook group (which is for staff only, so it acts as a sort of online noticeboard) which allows everyone to talk to everyone! Across the whole business! This is a great social area and allows everyone to enjoy the successes of others and view what’s happening on a day to day basis across a wide range of disciplines. Because we know how important it is to know which of our dealerships are having a bake sale… cake is the glue that binds us.

Support for all

Our programmes are for people from all walks of life and with all sorts of abilities. So, whether your child/student want to be an accountant, vehicle technician, parts advisor or driver, we have the ability to get them there. As well as gaining hands-on experience in all areas of our business, there are lots of ways for them to continue learning and growing with us. We make sure they have great people to support them on their journey and to give helpful advice and guidance, including buddies, mentors, line managers and programme managers and a great Human Resource team.

School Leavers and Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are designed to help you learn by getting hands-on experience. It's sometimes also known as work-based learning, because you literally learn as you work. You’ll get training to develop new skills and then immediately get to put them into practice in the workplace. At the end of your apprenticeship you get a qualification recognising what you've learned.

It takes a great deal of hard work but if you stick at it and do well, you’re already on your way to an excellent career in a growing industry. Depending on the apprenticeship, you’ll get to attend training courses abroad, drive the latest cars and receive the highest level of training available. Not to mention you’ll have a blast.

Work Experience

Work experience is a really fun way to get into the world of work and see what it’s all about. Here are a few reasons to consider work experience:

  • You’ll get a taste of what a job or workplace is like, so you can figure out if you’re interested in that career.
  • Working with other people and doing your tasks well helps you build your confidence
  • On your CV, UCAS form, or college application, work experience shows you’re enthusiastic and ready to work hard. You can pick out particular achievements to show off
  • You’ll meet people at work and might attend meetings or events. You’ll make contacts that could provide a reference or help you in the future.

Sales Graduates

Our Graduate intake programme helps set great graduates up for a career path for life, and equip them with many skills that are vital for success in the workplace. What we like to see is graduates joining the business in the sales department We want you to work to get to the top of your game, gearing you up to go a long way in our business. And they’ll do it in no time at all. learning the ropes and culture of the Organisation. What we guarantee the graduate is a place on our Sales MAP Programme (Management Acceleration Pathway) assessment centre. Once you have been immersed in the sales department for around 12/18 months, we will put you forward for the assessment centre to enter the programme, if you pass the quality Line then you will join the formal MAP programme.

We hope to challenge all of those on the scheme in a comfortable environment, helping them to meet their full potential. This scheme shows the graduate how to embrace early responsibility, what it means to be entrepreneurial, and what it feels like to make great things happen - for colleagues, for customers, and for themselves. During the first 12/18 months, the graduate will be paid the same as a fully-fledged Sales Executive and will of course have their own franchise company car. What more could they want, great pay and facilities, fantastic manufacturer training and that chance to work with some of the best products in the world. More importantly, if they love their role in sales, then there is no pressure to complete the MAP assessment centre, we would be delighted either way for them to stay doing what they lover or to move onto the MAP programme – either way, in our eyes they would be a success.
