FAQs

Isn't being part of the scheme more complex than running my own car?

No. Signing up to the Scheme is simple and we handle the whole process for you. It also takes the hassle out of owning a car as insurance as well as servicing and maintenance are all covered and once you’ve had the car for three years we will replace it with a new one.

Can I insure my partner/ carer / other family member to drive the vehicle?

You can have up to two other named drivers on the car under the Motability Scheme, so you don’t have to be the sole driver. You, plus one other person can be the named driver, or in instances where the person eligible is unable to drive, you can have two others (such as a parent and a carer) as the named drivers on the vehicle.

What are the running costs of a new Lexus?

Aside from the cost of fuel, your Motability Scheme lease covers everything you need to keep your car running smoothly, including maintenance and servicing, so that you can enjoy worry-free motoring without the hassle of unexpected bills or repairs and enjoy the unique Lexus driving experience

Adaptations

In some cases, your motoring experience could be dramatically improved by simply choosing the right Lexus for your needs. Features such as automatic transmission, push button ignition and height-adjustable seating positions can all help make driving, or travelling, easier and are available on almost all Lexus vehicles.

If however you do require adaptations to make your Lexus easier, safer or more comfortable to use, you’ll be pleased to know that many of the most popular ones are now available at no additional cost when fitted at the start of your Contract Hire lease. Others will require payment as part of your Advance Payment.

The Motability Managed Adaptations Programme has been designed to cover the adaptations process for you from start to finish and to ensure that all work is carried out by an approved installer.
