Sunshine state of mind: in about only 15 seconds, the automatic soft-top system of the Mercedes-AMG SL gives your customers their own personal place in the sun. With the top down, the SL impresses with outstanding comfort all year round. Even when the outside temperature is very low, the AIRSCARF and the zone seat heating create a cosy atmosphere.
The fully automatic, comprehensively insulated fabric top opens in about only 15 seconds at vehicle speeds of up to 37 mph.
In everyday life, you will benefit from the intelligent space layout, as the SL is designed as a practical 2+2 seater. The fixed rear seat offers space for two additional occupants up to 1.50 metres tall or serves as additional stowage space within easy reach.
For the first time, the SL also puts its power on the road with the state-of-the-art AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system. In combination with the powerful M177 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine, your customers will enjoy a driving experience at the highest level.
AMG rear axle steering combines attributes which are not normally combinable: driving safety and comfort as with a long wheelbase, yet the agility of a vehicle with a short wheelbase. On each rear wheel there is an electric actuator motor which can turn the wheels in the same direction as the front wheels or in the opposite direction, depending on the vehicle's speed. In extremely sporty situations, adaptation by the rear axle steering can avoid ESP® intervention.

Mercedes-AMG 4.0-litre biturbo V8 engine
The further-developed 4.0-litre V8 engine from Mercedes-AMG impresses in both output levels with its explosive power delivery combined with finely-adjustable output. Numerous high-tech components and materials from motor racing are used. The twin-scroll turbochargers are placed between the cylinder heads ("hot inner V") for spontaneous response and low exhaust emissions. Cylinder shutoff when power demand is low reduces fuel consumption.
Mercedes-AMG 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder engine
The world's most powerful 4-cylinder passenger car engine in series production delivers a top-class technology package. Depending on the power required, the combined fuel system works with direct or port injection. The single-flow 48 V exhaust gas turbocharger and the boost of the belt-driven starter generator also contribute to the feisty response of the power unit.
