All-New Mazda CX-5 Unveiled: A Modern Cockpit Reimagined with Google Built-In

Western & Barnetts Mazda is excited to introduce the all-new Mazda CX-5, a landmark model that opens a bold new chapter for the brand. As the first vehicle to adopt Mazda E/E Architecture+ (Mazda EEA+), the next-generation electrical and electronic platform, the new CX-5 delivers a groundbreaking human-machine interface (HMI) designed for today’s connected driving experience.

At the heart of this innovation is a reimagined cockpit that blends advanced digital capability with Mazda’s signature clean, driver-focused design. With Google built-in as standard, the all-new CX-5 offers intuitive connectivity and seamless access to essential services, enhancing every journey.

Next-Generation Architecture for a Next-Generation SUV

Mazda EEA+ integrates the vehicle’s electronic control units, software systems, communication networks and the external servers that support the car’s digital functions. This sophisticated platform underpins the new CX-5’s revitalised HMI and connectivity features, enabling:

  • Over-the-air (OTA) updates
  • Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
  • The foundation for Mazda’s future Software Defined Vehicles (SDV)

A Safer, Smarter, More Intuitive HMI Experience

The all-new HMI is crafted to keep drivers in control while reducing visual, manual and cognitive distraction. Staying true to Mazda’s safety-first philosophy, the interface prioritises clarity and ease of use in every touchpoint.

Key highlights include:

  • A new integrated touch display, available in 12.9-inch or 15.6-inch sizes
  • Customisable, smartphone-style interaction
  • Physical buttons for essential controls
  • Frequently accessed functions placed high and always visible
  • A standard 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster
  • A larger, more advanced head-up display

Capacitive steering-wheel switches combine modern touch responsiveness with traditional rocker-style operation, while high-precision voice recognition enables hands-on-wheel control.

Google Built-In: A First for Mazda

For the first time in the brand’s history, Google built-in comes standard on a Mazda model. The all-new CX-5 launches with Google Assistant and will later be updated to Google Gemini, giving drivers natural, conversational control over navigation, climate adjustments, media and more.

The digital ecosystem is further enhanced by:

  • Apple CarPlay
  • Android Auto™
  • The MyMazda app
  • An available 12-speaker Bose® premium audio system

Design That Reflects Japanese Craftsmanship

Mazda’s design ethos is evident throughout the cabin, which offers a calming, spacious environment with refined materials and thoughtful detailing. Externally, the all-new CX-5 evolves Mazda’s Kodo design language with a bolder stance, improved proportions and a confident road presence.

Power is delivered by the 2.5-litre e-Skyactiv G petrol engine paired with Mazda M Hybrid technology, offering a balance of responsiveness and efficiency.
