The Mazda2 Hybrid offers a smooth and refined drive, with characteristics that are similar to petrol-powered cars. The Mazda2 Hybrid system uses two separate power sources: a battery-powered electric motor and a petrol-driven combustion engine. Both can be used individually or together. During normal driving, power allocation is adjusted between the petrol engine and electric motor for optimum performance and the best possible fuel efficiency. During deceleration and braking, kinetic energy is recovered as electric energy and store within the battery.
The Hybrid system is fully automatic and optimises its operation by minimising fuel use, and gives you the ability to drive in electric vehicle mode at low speeds.
The Mazda2 Hybrid has been awarded the top five-star ranking in the Euro NCAP safety testing and has been equipped to be one of the safest models in its segment. The rigid body is built to absorb harsh impact forces which helps to keep the driver and passengers safe in the event of a collision.
