Mazda’s all-new electric SUV arrives in the UK later this year, with prices starting from £42,990 and two highly specified model grades available
Mazda has announced UK pricing and specification for the all-new Mazda CX-6e, its latest all-electric SUV, which is set to arrive in the UK later this year.
Available in two highly specified model grades, the new Mazda CX-6e will be priced from £42,990 for the Takumi, rising to £45,350 for the flagship Takumi Plus.
Joining the all-new Mazda6e in Mazda’s expanding electric vehicle line-up, the CX-6e combines Mazda’s distinctive design philosophy with advanced technology, impressive electric performance and a spacious, family-focused interior.
Unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show in January, the Mazda CX-6e has been developed to offer a compelling combination of performance, efficiency and everyday practicality.
At the heart of the CX-6e is a 78kWh Lithium-Ion Phosphate (LFP) battery, powering a rear-mounted electric motor that produces 258PS and 290Nm of torque.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a single-speed transmission, giving the Mazda CX-6e responsive acceleration and the engaging driving characteristics associated with the brand's Jinba Ittai philosophy.
The CX-6e accelerates from 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds and has a top speed of 115mph, while offering a WLTP range of up to 300 miles.
For longer journeys, rapid DC charging provides additional convenience. With a maximum charging rate of 200kW, the CX-6e can charge from 10-80% in just 24 minutes under suitable conditions.
For home and destination charging, the onboard charger supports 11kW three-phase AC charging through a Type 2 connection.
The UK Mazda CX-6e range will initially consist of two well-equipped grades:
| Model | UK price | Key features |
|---|---|---|
| Mazda CX-6e Takumi | £42,990 | 19-inch wheels, 26.45-inch touchscreen, head-up display and comprehensive safety technology |
| Mazda CX-6e Takumi Plus | £45,350 | 21-inch wheels, digital rear-view and side cameras, enhanced interior features and additional rear-seat technology |
Takumi models come with 19-inch alloy wheels as standard, with the option to upgrade to 21-inch wheels for £1,000.
The flagship CX-6e Takumi Plus comes with 21-inch wheels as standard, together with additional premium equipment including digital rear-view and side cameras, a translucent interior styling bar with ambient lighting, heated outer rear seats and ventilated outer rear seat bases.
The Takumi Plus also adds additional controls to the rear function touchscreen, allowing rear passengers to control these features.
Technology is central to the Mazda CX-6e's interior, with both UK model grades featuring a sweeping 26.45-inch touchscreen at the heart of the smart cockpit.
The customisable dual-split display allows passengers to access a wide range of information while helping minimise distraction for the driver.
A large head-up display complements the central screen, projecting navigation information onto the road ahead so drivers can keep their attention focused on the journey.
The CX-6e also introduces gesture control, allowing selected functions such as saved routes and music to be accessed without physically touching a button.
Natural voice recognition provides another convenient way of interacting with the vehicle, including functions such as adjusting the temperature, opening the windows and finding destinations.
Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are included, while the Mazda CX-6e also has its own dedicated app. Remote functions include battery charge management and Bluetooth® key sharing.
The Mazda CX-6e is available with three distinctive interior colour combinations.
Takumi models can be specified with Stone or Black Maztex, while the Takumi Plus features a two-tone Amethyst and White Maztex interior.
Maztex is Mazda's vegan alternative to leather and has been developed to combine durability, easy cleaning and comfort.
The cabin has also been designed around the Japanese concept of Ma, which focuses on the beauty and importance of empty space.
Despite its sleek SUV profile, the Mazda CX-6e offers generous headroom, legroom and shoulder room for occupants, making it well suited to family use and longer journeys.
Safety and driver assistance technology are a key part of the Mazda CX-6e specification.
Every UK model comes equipped with nine airbags alongside a network of high-definition cameras, millimetre-wave radar and ultrasonic sensors designed to enhance the driver's awareness of their surroundings.
The comprehensive driver assistance package includes technologies such as:
Together, these systems are designed to provide additional reassurance for both drivers and passengers across a wide range of driving conditions.
While the CX-6e's technology and electric powertrain are important parts of the new SUV's appeal, its design is likely to be one of the first things customers notice.
The all-new Mazda CX-6e takes the brand's Kodo – Soul of Motion design philosophy into the next generation of electric mobility.
Its design is described by Mazda as 'Soulful Futuristic Modern', combining sculptural surfaces with technology-led details and practical proportions.
The CX-6e has a 2,902mm wheelbase and short overhangs, helping create a spacious cabin while retaining its sleek SUV proportions.
Practicality has also been considered, with 468 litres of luggage capacity, expanding to 1,434 litres when the second-row seats are folded flat.
Seven exterior colours will be available, including the distinctive Nightfall Violet hero colour. The deep, glossy finish can appear as a rich purple or almost black depending on the surrounding light.
The new Mazda CX-6e follows the all-new Mazda6e into Mazda's expanding range of electric vehicles.
The company says the two models form an important part of its wider electrification strategy, while maintaining Mazda's focus on driving enjoyment, design and technology.
Commenting on the all-new Mazda CX-6e, Mazda Motors UK Managing Director Jeremy Thomson said:
“hot on the heels of the Mazda6e, the CX-6e combines great design, driving enjoyment, and advanced technology and I know how excited our UK dealers are about this cars arrival.”
He added:
“with the announcement of such competitive pricing, I’m confident UK customers will be equally excited about this stylish, well-equipped and high technology addition to Mazda’s SUV line-up in the UK. The all-new Mazda CX-6e is set to bring a new all-electric SUV option to UK customers, combining a 300-mile WLTP range, rear-wheel-drive performance, rapid charging, advanced technology and Mazda's distinctive Kodo design.
