Mazda is gearing up for a thrilling autumn with the arrival of the 2025 Mazda3 and 2025 Mazda CX-30. The 2025 models of these popular vehicles bring exciting updates, enhancing their already award-winning design and luxurious interiors.
New Features and Connectivity
While the 2025 Mazda3 and Mazda CX-30 retain their celebrated exterior designs and high-class interiors, they now come with notable upgrades in connectivity. Both models feature the integrated Alexa Voice Assistant, making it easier to manage your vehicle and stay connected on the go. Additionally, Mazda's navigation system has been updated with cloud-based points of interest and database updates, ensuring you have the latest information at your fingertips.
These connectivity enhancements build on the 2024 model year’s offerings, which included a 10.25-inch center screen, Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Qi Wireless Charging, and USB Type-C charging ports.
A Powerful New Engine Option
The biggest change for the 2025 Mazda3 and Mazda CX-30 is the introduction of a new e-Skyactiv G engine. This advanced 2.5-litre engine, which replaces the current 2.0-litre 122ps e-Skyactiv G engine, is also featured in the Mazda CX-5. Producing 140ps, this engine offers an 18ps increase over its predecessor and brings significant improvements in torque, from 213Nm at 4,000rpm to 238Nm at 3,300rpm. This upgrade translates to better real-world performance, with 0-62mph acceleration improvements of up to 1 second depending on the model and transmission.
Mazda’s new engine also introduces improved noise, vibration, and harshness characteristics, enhancing the driving experience with greater refinement. The 2.5-litre e-Skyactiv G engine incorporates cylinder deactivation and the Mazda M-Hybrid mild-hybrid system, reflecting Mazda’s commitment to providing efficient and enjoyable driving experiences.
Retaining the e-Skyactiv X Engine
At the top of both model ranges, the 186ps e-Skyactiv-X engine remains unchanged. This engine features Mazda’s innovative Spark Controlled Compression Ignition (SPCCI) technology, delivering 186ps at 6,000rpm and 240Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. With its high compression ratio and optimized combustion control, the e-Skyactiv X engine offers impressive torque and fuel economy, enhancing the driving experience with smoother acceleration.
Both the Mazda3 and Mazda CX-30 continue to offer options for manual or automatic transmission. The range-topping Mazda CX-30 e-Skyactiv X Takumi also comes with all-wheel drive, further improving its versatility and performance.
Stylish New Offerings
The Mazda3 Saloon, exclusively equipped with the 186ps e-Skyactiv X engine for the 2025 model year, stands out with its unique design. It features a 200mm longer profile than the hatchback version, giving it a distinctive presence in the compact premium saloon sector. The Mazda3 Saloon shares only its windscreen and bonnet with the hatchback, showcasing its own unique exterior panels.
A Message from Mazda
Jeremy Thomson, Managing Director of Mazda UK, commented on the new models: “The addition of the 2.5-litre e-Skyactiv G engine with cylinder deactivation to the Mazda3 and Mazda CX-30 exemplifies our multi-solution approach to powertrains and sustainability. This is alongside our e-Skyactiv X with SPCCI technology and the wide adoption of Mazda M-Hybrid mild-hybrid systems. The Mazda2 Hybrid, Mazda MX-30 R-EV, and Mazda CX-60 PHEV further highlight our commitment to diverse powertrain solutions.”
He added, “The Mazda CX-30’s popularity solidifies its place in our lineup, while the Mazda3 remains one of the most stylish, high-quality, and well-equipped hatchbacks on the market. The Mazda3 Saloon is a strong contender in the compact executive saloon market.”
