Western & Barnetts Mazda is delighted to celebrate a standout evening for Mazda at the inaugural Motor Trader Women in Motor Industry Awards, where Mazda Motors UK Sales Director, Laura Brailey, received the prestigious OEM Leader Award. The success continued with Carina Hall from Mazda Financial Services, who was named Financial Services Rising Star.
Organised by Motor Trader Magazine, the new awards ceremony was created to shine a spotlight on female talent across the automotive sector - recognising leadership, innovation and the individuals shaping the future of the industry. Winners across 40 categories were selected by an independent panel of 28 expert judges.
The judging panel commended Laura for her people-first approach and her commitment to championing diversity at Mazda UK, noting:
“pioneering gender diversity across the dealer network and within her team. She is an inspiring female leader, mentoring others and actively working to ensure accessible career pathways in sales.”
Carina Hall was also praised for her rising influence within Mazda Financial Services, securing the Financial Services Rising Star Award.
Commenting on both achievements, Mazda Motors UK Managing Director, Jeremy Thomson, said:
“It’s fantastic to see Laura’s leadership recognised at an industry level, especially because the qualities being celebrated are exactly those that make such a difference within Mazda every day. I congratulate and thank her for the example she sets and for the momentum she creates around the business, likewise it’s great to see Carina acknowledged for her work with Mazda Financial Services.”
After accepting her award at the ceremony in London, Laura Brailey expressed her gratitude:
“I’m immensely proud to have been given this award both personally and as recognition for Mazda. The support and encouragement I have had from my colleagues at Mazda has influenced me hugely and quite simply I owe this award to them. This inaugural event is truly inspiring, highlighting the celebration of many women across the motor industry who are driving positive change and helping create more opportunities for women in the automotive sector”.
The achievements of both Laura and Carina underline Mazda’s dedication to developing strong, diverse leadership and supporting career progression across all areas of the business.
