Mazda has debuted its latest BEV, the Mazda6e, at the Brussels Motor Show, marking a significant step in its European EV lineup. This sleek electric hatchback, featuring a fastback saloon-inspired design, will launch in left-hand drive European markets later this year, with UK sales beginning in the first half of 2026.
Building on the legacy of the popular Mazda6 (produced from 2002 to 2023), the all-new Mazda6e represents a modern evolution of the iconic model. It combines a flowing exterior design, a sophisticated cabin, and Mazda’s signature focus on a dynamic driving experience.
The Mazda6e offers two battery configurations to suit varying customer preferences:
Both versions deliver 320Nm of torque and feature rear-wheel drive, offering a blend of efficiency and performance.
Under the theme “Electrifying Design Crafted to Perfection,” the Mazda6e introduces a refined evolution of Mazda’s Kodo - Soul of Motion design philosophy.
The Mazda6e boasts a cutting-edge 14.6-inch touchscreen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and an augmented reality head-up display. Practicality is ensured with a 330-litre rear boot, a 70-litre front boot, and generous passenger space.
Mazda’s engineers in Frankfurt have meticulously calibrated the Mazda6e’s suspension, power steering, and braking to deliver the engaging driving dynamics that Mazda is known for, tailored to European and UK preferences.
Jeremy Thomson, Managing Director of Mazda Motors UK, commented:
“The Mazda6e is the car our dealers have been waiting for. It’s a testament to Mazda’s ability to combine design, technology, and style in the EV space. With its exceptional driving experience, I’m confident the Mazda6e will become a favourite among electric vehicle enthusiasts.”
He added:
“In the UK, we face unique challenges balancing EV legislation and consumer demand. Mazda is committed to introducing new models at a pace that aligns with market needs, offering mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and BEV solutions. The Mazda6e, arriving in 2026, will be a pivotal addition to our lineup.”
The all-new Mazda6e signifies the next chapter in Mazda’s EV journey in Europe, blending design, innovation, and performance to meet the demands of the electrification era.
