Barnetts Honda Perth - Now Open For Business
Eastern Western Motor Group has recently announced the acquisition of two Honda franchises located in Perth and Dundee. This strategic move further strengthens the group’s presence in the region, following their acquisition of Barnetts Motor Group in 2018. The newly acquired dealerships will now operate under the name Barnetts Honda.
The Honda dealership in Broughty Ferry, previously operated by West End Garage on Queen Street, has been a staple in the local community for over 90 years, with 44 of those years dedicated to the Honda brand. The dealership will transition to a new, state-of-the-art showroom at the Dunsinane Industrial Estate, a site already home to their Barnetts Toyota, Lexus Dundee, and Car Deal Warehouse dealerships.
In Perth, Eastern Western will take over the Honda dealership on Dunkeld Road, ensuring continuity for both staff and customers. All existing employees at the Perth location will be retained during the transition, reinforcing the group's commitment to maintaining strong relationships with the local workforce and community.
West End Garage owner, James Ewart, who has been with the business for 33 years, expressed mixed emotions about the transition. "Obviously, after representing Honda for 44 years, we are disappointed to be parting company with the franchise. However, we are reassured that our customers and staff will be well looked after by the incoming company, who, like ourselves, are a family business with a long and successful heritage," Ewart said.
The newly branded Barnetts Honda dealership in Dundee will initially operate from temporary premises within the Barnetts Toyota, Lexus Dundee, and Car Deal Warehouse site at Dunsinane Industrial Estate, before moving into its permanent location.
