Wings and Wheels At Fife Airport

Autobahn Scotland kindly invited us along to their Wings and Wheels breakfast meet at Fife Airport on Saturday 19th August.

Of course, we had to take something both fitting and unique along to wow the crowds. Our incredible Lexus LC 500 Black Inspiration model therefore made the cut.

What is the Black Inspiration variant?

The Black Inspiration does what it says on the tin, swapping out the LC500’s chrome and satin trim elements around the grille, roof, lighting and mirrors for either satin or gloss black replacements. These changes might sound subtle, but they completely transform the look and feel of the LC Coupe, making it more aggressive and less GT-like.

These changes are paired with a unique Graphite Black paint finish, new forged 21-inch alloy wheels – also finished in a matt black finish – and a static carbonfibre rear spoiler that arcs around the bootlid to almost wrap right the way around the tail lamps.

The rest of the specification is otherwise based on the top-spec Sport Plus Pack variant, which is highlighted by the addition of a Torsen limited-slip differential, rear-wheel steering and a progressive steering rack up front. These elements join the standard LC’s aluminium-intensive chassis, with double-wishbone suspension all-round on adaptive dampers.

Inside, Lexus has kept things relatively subdued compared to some of its other limited edition LC models, pairing black semi-aniline leather trim with very subtle dark brown contrast highlights around the seat bolsters, console and door cards. It also features extended use of Alcantara on the door cards, centre storage cubby, steering wheel and the top of the instrument binnacle.

How many were produced?

Lexus have revealed that there were only 13 of these exclusive models produced, so it is an absolute pleasure for us to have acquired one at our Glasgow dealership.

The Event

Joseph, our Social Media Manager, set off from his home in Newbridge with the V8 LC at around 7:30am and headed over the bridge towards Fife Airport.

As other supercar enthusiasts and owners started to arrive, they couldn't help but admire the 'Bat Mobile' as it was referred to many a time throughout the day.

It attracted a great amount of attention from the likes of Porsche owners and so on and took a lot of them by surprise.

Overall, it was great to see both groups of car and aviation enthusiasts come together to enjoy a fun-packed day!
