The Volkswagen ID range covers everything from spacious campervans to small hatchbacks perfect for day-to-day use. The line’s name is said to encompass intelligent design, identity and visionary technologies, and it’s easy to see where Volkswagen has put the focus on these elements while creating the ID line.
First introduced in 2019, the Volkswagen ID.3 was the first of the range. It was billed as an electric alternative to the popular Golf and has a sporty feel and futuristic style. There have been several versions since first launch, each working to update everything from its environmentally conscious interior, made with zero animal products, to its overall efficiency.
For those looking for a little more space came the ID.4, which arrived on the scene in 2020. This medium-sized SUV is pitched at families or anyone that needs a little extra room, whether that’s to store holiday gear or to do some serious shopping – it even has an optional towing bracket. This urban SUV also has the turning circle of a much smaller car, making it an excellent choice for those looking for a great city solution.
Offering a great blend of SUV and coupé, the Volkswagen ID.5 joined the line up in 2021 and brought a sleeker style to the line. Fun extras like seamless music integration and the opportunity to pick between a range of colours for the interior’s ambient lighting makes the ID.5 feel like a cut above. It also has a sophisticated head-up display with augmented reality options.
If it’s a fully electric fastback with a futuristic style you’re looking for, then the Volkswagen ID.7 is a great choice. Its efficient charging system means you can charge from 10 to 80 per cent in under 30 minutes and enjoy a range of up to 435 miles. It also offers ample space for up to five passengers and features lots of premium materials and extras.
The ID.Buzz brought some fun to the old school camper van style in 2024. There’s plenty of luggage space, lots of room for the drivers and passengers and over 30 assistance systems available, making it a convenient and comfortable choice. It has a range of up to 258 miles and is very easy to charge.
