Volkswagen’s latest SUV, the Tayron, will be available to order in the UK starting Thursday, 9 January. Priced from £39,850 (on-the-road, including VAT), the new model combines everyday versatility with high-end comfort and cutting-edge technology. The range includes five trim levels, with top-tier R-Line variants priced just above £50,000.

A Perfect Fit in Volkswagen’s SUV Range
The Tayron slots neatly between the mid-size Tiguan and the luxury Touareg, offering the perfect balance of space, sophistication, and practicality. At 4,792 mm in length, it is seven centimeters longer than the Tiguan Allspace, providing extra room for third-row passengers (optional) and a spacious 850-litre boot when the rear seats are folded.

Built in Wolfsburg, Germany, the Tayron includes family-friendly features like sun-blinds on rear doors and an optional electronic child safety lock. It boasts a towing capacity of 2,400 kg and comes with Volkswagen’s Trailer Assist system as standard when equipped with the optional folding towing bracket.

Striking Design and Premium Interiors
The Tayron’s bold design is highlighted by LED headlights, a front-illuminated Volkswagen badge, and a rear LED crossbar with a 3D effect and illuminated logo—making it the first Volkswagen ICE model in Europe to feature illuminated emblems front and rear.

The premium feel continues inside, with high-quality materials like ArtVelours Eco microfibre, open-pore wood, and illuminated decorative trims. Depending on trim, buyers can enjoy sophisticated touches, including ambient lighting and ergonomic seating options.

Generous Equipment and Advanced Systems
The Tayron comes in five trims—Life, Match (eHybrid only), Elegance, R-Line, and R-Line Edition (eHybrid only)—all featuring an extensive suite of standard features:

  • LED headlights with automatic high-beam control.
  • Nine airbags for enhanced safety.
  • Volkswagen’s DCC Pro adaptive chassis control system (on eHybrid and TSI variants).
  • Three-zone climate control, a 12.9-inch infotainment system, and configurable cabin lighting.
  • Assistance systems like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and pedestrian monitoring.

Optional features include a 15-inch infotainment display, a head-up display, IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights, and Travel Assist for advanced driving assistance. Luxury options include a panoramic sunroof, a 700-watt Harman-Kardon sound system, and massage seats with leather upholstery.

Diverse Powertrains for Every Need
The Tayron offers six engine options:

  • From 9 January:

Plug-in hybrid variants feature a 19.7 kWh battery, delivering up to 75 miles of all-electric range (WLTP). The battery supports up to 11 kW AC and 40 kW DC charging, enabling a 10-80% recharge in just 26 minutes.
