The tuning kit boosts the output of the twin-scroll turbocharger in a MINI Cooper S with manual transmission to an incredible 141 kW, with maximum torque of 250 Nm between 1,750 and 5,000 rpm. With the overboost function, 270 Nm can be achieved between 1,750 and 4,500 rpm for a short period - enough to take the Cooper S from 0 - 100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds and a max speed of 232 km/h.

To improve component life, the John Cooper Works tuning kit replaces the supercharger with a different one, with a shorter pulley. This turns faster, producing significantly greater boost pressure - and this in turn requires a new cylinder head, with precision-machined intake and exhaust ports to optimize engine airflow. The final element in the kit is an improved rear silencer. Additional parts may be required.
