And being awarded a five-star safety rating by the Euro NCAP for the smart #5 underlines our unwavering commitment to it.

Barely on the market and already winning awards: Just shortly after its premiere, our smart #5 has been honored with the prestigious Red Dot Design Award: Product Design – a prize recognized worldwide for outstanding design.

It's no surprise that this car has such a striking appearance. The upright silhouette looks slim and dynamic thanks to the frameless doors and short overhangs, while the elongated front and rear headlights emphasise its self-confident character. Inside, the elegant, clearly structured interior is impressive. And on top of that, there is modern technology – from digital equipment to AI-supported interaction.

At smart, we’re especially proud of this award – it affirms our ambition to rethink mobility and shows once again how design, technology, and everyday usability can come together seamlessly.

The Red Dot Award: Product Design sets out to find the best products around. With entries from 60 countries, we're immensely proud that our smart #3 was recognised with the Red Dot Design Award in 2024. The car particularly impressed the jury with its sporty appearance thanks to its steeply sloping roofline and dynamic design language, as well as the calm atmosphere in the interior.

After rigorous testing, the smart #3 Pro+ received a five-star rating from the Green New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP). With an overall score of 95%, the smart #3 is a prime example for energy saving and carbon reduction, achieving the maximum score of 10 in the Clean Air Index. We’re proud to do our part in contributing to a more sustainable tomorrow.
