The paint and body centre here in Broxburn have received many projects over the years including the B.M.W. Isetta which can be seen in the Luxury Car Village, Newbridge This year we were commissioned by Porsche Club of Great Britain to restore a classic Porsche 356 for display in the reception of their head office in Gloustershire.
This was a task that would put our workmanship on view to the whole of the Porsche community and leave us open to scrutiny and criticism from everyone who visits site so a first class job was expected and delivered from the team here in Broxburn. The 356 was suffering from years of neglect and water damage which would require major work to be carried out to the doors ,wings and interior.
We started by stripping the car back to a shell which included the removal of all Glass, Doors, Bumpers, Lights and full Interior. We then renew the lower sections of the Doors repaired all corrosion damage to the interior and exterior before the car was refinished in its original Porsche White paint. The interior was renewed using new Nappa Leather on the seats dash and door trims, carpets and head cloth were made and refitted using the old the trim as templates, the vehicle was then reassembled and polished till it looked as good as day it left the Factory back in 1963.
The restoration took three months to complete and is a testament to the skill and professionalism of the staff here at the Accident Repair Centre in Broxburn.
