All-New Nissan LEAF Hits the Road – British-Built, Electrifyingly Advanced, and Ready for the Future

The next generation of all-electric driving has arrived. The all-new Nissan LEAF, proudly built in Britain at Nissan’s world-class Sunderland Plant, has officially taken to the roads - debuting in Copenhagen with a bold new design, cutting-edge technology, and an exceptional range of up to 386 miles.

A New Era for an Electric Icon

When it first launched in Europe in 2011, the Nissan LEAF made history as the world’s first mass-market electric vehicle. Now, over a decade later, the third-generation LEAF represents Nissan’s renewed commitment to innovation, sustainability, and driver enjoyment.

“The all-new LEAF is the embodiment of our DNA here at Nissan: smart, sleek, stylish, and ready for the next generation of EV drivers. With a top range of 386 miles and connected technologies, it delivers the convenience and excitement our customers demand,” said Clíodhna Lyons, Region Vice President, Product and Services Planning, Nissan AMIEO. “As we continue to level up our electric offering in Europe and the wider AMIEO region, the new LEAF represents exactly what our customers are looking for.”

Sleek Aerodynamic Design

Designed at Nissan’s Global Design Studio in Atsugi, Japan and crafted with precision in Sunderland, the all-new LEAF showcases a striking new crossover silhouette that merges aerodynamic efficiency with head-turning style.

With a drag coefficient of just 0.25, the LEAF’s streamlined form doesn’t just look good - it delivers genuine range benefits, achieving up to 269 miles at motorway speeds. Key design highlights include:

  • Flush-mounted door handles
  • Sculpted surfaces and a flowing roofline
  • Distinctive 3D tail light signature
  • Optional 19" aerodynamic alloy wheels
  • Dimming panoramic roof with subtle LEAF-embossed detailing

Inside, the new LEAF offers a spacious, family-friendly cabin with up to 437 litres (VDA) of boot space, optional power liftgate, and roof rails for added practicality. With seven expressive colour choices - including the signature Luminous Teal - the LEAF is as stylish as it is functional.

Extended Range and Smarter Charging

Drivers can choose between 52kWh and 75kWh battery options, offering ranges of 271 miles* and 386 miles (WLTP) respectively. The larger 75kWh version provides up to 269 miles at 70 mph and energy efficiency of 4.5 miles/kWh, making long journeys simpler and more confident.

The LEAF’s 150kW rapid charging capability means you can recover up to 273 miles of range in just 30 minutes. Plus, with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology providing up to 3.1kW of external power, you can easily run small appliances or camping gear. Future-ready Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) capability will also enable owners to return energy to the grid.

Refined Performance and Intelligent Assistance

Built on the CMF-EV modular platform, shared with the Nissan Ariya, the all-new LEAF combines smooth, agile handling with quiet refinement. The advanced MacPherson front and multi-link rear suspension ensure balance and comfort, supported by features such as:

  • e-Pedal Step for smooth, one-pedal driving
  • ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link for adaptive speed and steering control
  • 3D Around View Monitor with Invisible Hood View and Front Wide View for safer manoeuvring
  • Regenerative braking with paddle shift energy recovery

Powered by a refined electric motor delivering 215hp and 355Nm of torque, the LEAF accelerates from 0–62mph in 7.6 seconds (Sport Mode / 75kWh battery), providing a responsive yet effortless drive.

Safety remains at the heart of Nissan’s philosophy. The LEAF comes equipped with Intelligent Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Intervention, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keep Assist, and a host of other driver assistance technologies to ensure peace of mind on every journey.

Built for the Connected Driver

Inside, the all-new LEAF delivers a next-generation digital experience with twin 14.3” displays and NissanConnect with Google built-in. Features include:

  • Google Maps with real-time route and charging integration
  • Google Assistant for voice-controlled functions
  • Google Play Store for apps, entertainment, and productivity tools

The NissanConnect Services app adds even more convenience, allowing drivers to remotely check battery levels, pre-condition the cabin, or plan routes directly from their smartphone.
