Important Update: Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) Increase from 1 April 2025

From 1 April 2025, the Government is increasing Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) rates for all new vehicle registrations. While this change affects all vehicles, those with higher emissions—such as the 1.3-litre DIG-T petrol engine—will see the biggest impact.

For instance, the Nissan Qashqai equipped with a 1.3-litre DIG-T petrol engine emits approximately 162 g/km of CO₂. Currently, vehicles in the 151–170 g/km CO₂ bracket incur a first-year VED of £545, but this will increase to £1,360 from April 2025.

What This Means for You

  • Order Before April to Avoid Higher VED – If you're considering a new vehicle, registering it before 1 April 2025 could save you a significant amount.
  • Availability is Limited – March is expected to be a particularly busy month for vehicle registrations, so we encourage you to place your order as soon as possible.
  • Factory Orders & Delivery Times – If you're ordering a factory-built or pipeline vehicle, be sure to check expected delivery times to ensure registration before the deadline.
