Nissan Formula E Team Survey Reveals Youth Excitement for Electric Mobility Future

Nissan Launches Humorous 'Department of Futures' Campaign Highlighting Children's Desire for Eco-Friendly Vehicles

The Nissan Formula E Team, in collaboration with OnePoll, has released a global survey showcasing the enthusiasm of young people for an electric mobility future. The survey, which included 6,000 participants aged 8 to 16 from Brazil, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the UK, and the US, aligns with Nissan's new marketing campaign, 'Department of Futures'.

The campaign, featuring a playful video on Nismo and Nissan's global social media channels, shows bright 7-10-year-olds challenging team drivers Oliver Rowland and Sacha Fenestraz, along with team principal Tommaso Volpe, about the future of electric vehicles.

Survey results reveal that over half of the young respondents want to drive electric cars to help save the environment, with 68% considering the fight against climate change important. This enthusiasm is reflected in Nissan's creative content, where the next generation holds key Nissan Formula E Team members accountable to the company's promises, including Nissan's Ambition 2030 pledge and the introduction of 27 new electrified vehicles by the decade's end.

The campaign demonstrates Nissan's commitment to ensuring young people can access the electrified future they desire. With nearly half of the respondents unclear about the meaning of being 'eco-friendly' and only 30% currently engaging in environmentally friendly practices, Nissan recognises its role as a leader in electrification to educate the next generation. Through its Formula E program, Nissan aims to develop advanced electric technologies and guide youth towards a greener future.

Tommaso Volpe, Managing Director and Team Principal of Nissan Formula E Team, stated: "We understand the importance of equipping the next generation with the tools to combat climate change through electric mobility. The survey shows young people's desire to help the environment through their vehicle choices, motivating us at Nissan Formula E Team to continue developing crucial technologies. The 'Department of Futures' members are well-informed about electrification, and our goal is to ensure they enjoy a greener, better future."

The independent survey was conducted by OnePoll in July 2024, involving 6,000 participants aged 8-16 from Brazil, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the UK, and the US.
