Nissan Formula E Team is thrilled to reveal its updated livery for the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, ahead of the new GEN3 Evo regulations. The team is sticking with its fan-favourite cherry blossom design, which debuted in Season 9, symbolising both its Japanese heritage and fresh beginnings, and now a core part of Nissan’s identity in Formula E.
After a strong Season 10, where the team finished fourth in both the Teams' and Drivers' Championships and third in the Manufacturers' Championship, Nissan is aiming to climb higher. To boost their chances, the team has refreshed its driver line-up, welcoming back Norman Nato, a seasoned racer, alongside Oliver Rowland, who had an impressive previous season with two wins and five podiums. Both drivers bring valuable experience and a proven ability to help develop race cars. Nato will drive the #17 car, while Rowland returns to Nissan’s iconic #23.
The team also benefits from its new 2,600-square-metre headquarters near Paris, which is fully operational for the upcoming season. The facility includes a workshop, simulator, and engineering offices, positioning the team to maximise performance by leveraging Nissan’s extensive resources and expertise.
Rowland and Nato will debut as teammates at pre-season testing in Valencia from November 4-7, before the 2024/25 season kicks off on December 7 at the São Paulo E-Prix.
Nissan Formula E Team’s managing director and team principal, Tommaso Volpe, expressed excitement for the new season, highlighting the team's hard work in adapting to the GEN3 Evo car and praising the new workshop. He emphasised the strength of the driver pairing and Nissan’s strong partnerships, particularly with Electromin, which has expanded its role as the team's main partner. Volpe expressed confidence that the team is ready to challenge for wins and podiums throughout Season 11.
Rowland shared his enthusiasm about the new workshop and the season ahead, while noting the team’s focus on optimising the GEN3 Evo car’s all-wheel-drive technology. Nato, returning to Nissan, praised the new facilities and the iconic cherry blossom livery, expressing eagerness to start the GEN3 Evo era.
The team’s partnerships remain strong, with Electromin now serving as innovation partner, supporting Nissan’s goal to lead electric mobility in the Middle East. Coral continues as the team’s sustainability partner, helping offset carbon emissions, and Coral Eyewear returns for a second season, providing sustainable eyewear crafted from recycled materials.
Nissan continues to race in Formula E as part of its commitment to electrification, using the series as a platform to refine electric vehicle technology for its road cars. As the first Japanese manufacturer to enter the series, Nissan remains dedicated to advancing electric mobility and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
