The achievement adds another significant milestone to the Nissan e-POWER story, following successful long-distance e-POWER journeys in the United Kingdom and Australia.
The record-breaking journey took place in Colombia between 14 and 17 July 2026, beginning in Bogotá before continuing towards the Caribbean coast.
The 1,980 km route exposed the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER to a wide variety of real-world driving conditions, including different roads, traffic environments, terrains and driving situations.
Every stage of the Guinness World Records™ attempt was independently monitored and verified by Guinness World Records™ judges. Following a detailed review process, the achievement was officially certified.
Nissan e-POWER is designed to provide the instant response, smooth acceleration and refinement associated with an electric vehicle, while retaining the convenience of a petrol engine for generating electricity.
Unlike a conventional hybrid, the wheels of an e-POWER vehicle are driven exclusively by an electric motor. The petrol engine does not mechanically drive the wheels; instead, it generates electricity when required.
This means Qashqai e-POWER can deliver an EV-like driving experience without the need for external charging.
