Unveiled on 17 June 2025, the All-New LEAF makes a compelling return, featuring a sleek new subcompact crossover-style body, departing from its traditional hatchback silhouette. Built on Nissan’s advanced CMF-EV (AmpR Medium) platform - shared with the premium ARIYA crossover - the LEAF offers refined aerodynamics, improved efficiency, and a captivating aesthetic.
Proudly assembled at the Sunderland plant, this new model underscores Nissan’s commitment to the UK as a global EV production hub. The facility, part of the ambitious EV36Zero project, integrates EV and battery manufacturing with renewable energy infrastructure.
Nissan has significantly boosted the range of the LEAF - now promising up to 375 miles on a single charge for some configurations, depending on battery and driving conditions. Equipped with liquid-cooled battery packs (52 kWh or 75 kWh) for the first time, the new model offers enhanced thermal management and charging performance.
In Europe, the LEAF delivers up to 211 miles endurance at 80 mph steady speeds, with fast charging capability up to 150 kW, enabling up to 417 km (about 260 miles) replenishment in just 30 minutes under ideal conditions.

These schemes offer savings of 20–50% compared to personal leasing, thanks to the 3% Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) rate for 2025/26. Additionally, the government’s £3,750 EV grant remains elusive - for now, only a £1,500 grant is available to eligible models, though the LEAF is among a few vehicles that may qualify for full incentive once available.
