On Tuesday 26th September 2023 two members of our Marketing department, Emma and Joe, departed from Edinburgh to Manchester for the UK reveal launch of the All-New Toyota C-HR.
Having travelled down the night before, our team were up and ready to go, ahead of an early start.
The venue of choice was definitely something never seen before for the launch of a vehicle. Diecast is a venue of monstrous proportions sprawling across 250,000 square feet of former foundry and warehouse just a few minutes from Piccadilly Station. The design team preserved industrial features such as corrugated steel, roof-block walls, large roller shutters and a concrete terrazzo. This (cleverly) engaged attendees from the get-go, before even stepping foot into the venue.
An amazing spread of nibbles and drinks were provided for all upon arrive, along with a goodie-bag which contained a Toyota-branded notepad and juggling balls... yes, you heard that right!
This had everyone wondering, however in no time everyone was guided through to the main arena where the All-New models were positioned under very dramatic red lighting. With a huge stage drawing the crowd in, it was time to begin learning about this reimagined and highly anticipated model.
From here on out everyone was immersed in a world of C-HR. Toyota put on a display! From fantastic presentations, to interactive marketing-related activities... there was never a dull moment and it was great to see everyone working as a team. Oh, and by the way, the juggling balls were used as a subliminal message to drill into the marketeers that you should not see a drop as a FAIL, and to look at it as an OPPORTUNITY - just work on your catch... take that how you will!
Toyota ensured we left feeling fully up-to-speed with the new C-HR and ready to market it to a new demographic, utilising bold and out-of-the-box ideas. FUN!
