Toyota is expanding its battery electric vehicle (BEV) line-up, strengthening its role in achieving carbon neutrality across Europe by 2035. With an ambitious multi-pathway strategy, the brand is set to introduce a range of new models in key SUV segments, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and sustainability.
The latest additions to Toyota’s BEV range demonstrate how previous concept models have been successfully refined into production-ready vehicles. By the end of 2025, Toyota will offer a diverse line-up across the B, C, and D-SUV categories—the most significant sectors in the European automotive market. These new models uphold Toyota’s core BEV principles, delivering authentic SUV capability, striking contemporary design, energy-efficient performance, and the option for true all-wheel drive.
Toyota’s commitment to Quality, Durability, and Reliability (QDR) extends to its electric models, exemplified by the Battery Care Programme, which provides coverage for up to 10 years or 650,000 miles, subject to an annual battery health check.
The bZ4X was Toyota’s first model built on the eTNGA platform—its dedicated battery-electric architecture. As a D-segment SUV, it offers a distinctive balance of bold styling and genuine all-terrain capability, with an optional XMODE all-wheel-drive system.
For 2025, the bZ4X receives notable upgrades, including:
The Toyota C-HR+ takes inspiration from the 2022 Compact SUV concept and builds upon the success of its predecessor, which has surpassed one million global sales since 2016. This all-new, all-electric C-SUV combines a coupe-inspired aesthetic with spacious practicality, designed to stand out in the competitive BEV market.
Key highlights:
The Urban Cruiser, inspired by the 2023 Urban SUV Concept, is a compact SUV with a bold, confident design and exceptional practicality. Despite its smaller footprint, the Urban Cruiser maximises interior space with a slide-adjustable rear seat system, providing legroom comparable to larger SUVs.
Key features include:
Looking ahead, Toyota is on track to introduce at least six new BEV models by 2026, all following a familiar naming strategy to enhance brand recognition. Beyond SUVs, Toyota is exploring how BEV technology could be integrated into other vehicle categories.
One example is the Land Cruiser Se Concept, unveiled at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show, which envisions the future of Toyota’s iconic off-roader with an electrified powertrain.
In the coming years, Toyota will also introduce next-generation BEV technologies, including advanced battery systems revealed in 2023. These developments will encompass high-performance, cost-effective, and solid-state battery innovations—paving the way for the next era of electric mobility.
