Over the weekend of Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st September 2025, Western Mercedes-Benz brought the future of driving to the heart of Edinburgh with an unforgettable POD activation on Castle Street. Against the iconic backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, visitors had the exclusive opportunity to discover the All-New Electric Mercedes-Benz CLA - the next generation of luxury, innovation, and sustainable performance.
For two days only, the All-New Electric CLA took centre stage inside our striking Mercedes-Benz POD. With its sleek coupe design, advanced technology, and impressive WLTP range of up to 484 miles, the CLA captured the attention of locals and tourists alike.
Our expert team were on hand throughout the weekend to guide visitors through the vehicle’s features, answer questions about electric driving, and share insight into the future of the Mercedes-Benz range. Guests were also treated to snacks, refreshments, and exclusive giveaways, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere in the middle of the city.

The activation wasn’t just about seeing the car - it was about experiencing the thrill of Mercedes-Benz. Visitors took part in our Formula 1 Simulator competition, where many participated for the fastest lap time around the iconic Silverstone circuit.

Crowds gathered to cheer on their friends and family as they raced against the clock, with plenty of laughter, friendly rivalry, and high-octane excitement.
The atmosphere on Castle Street was electric - quite literally. From curious passers-by to passionate Mercedes-Benz fans, the reaction to the new Electric CLA was overwhelmingly positive. Many visitors commented on the car’s stunning design, spacious interior, and remarkable electric range, describing it as “a true game changer” for the brand.
Throughout the weekend, the POD was filled with conversation, smiles, and excitement as visitors explored official Mercedes-Benz merchandise, entered competitions, and snapped photos beside the CLA - all while enjoying the best of Mercedes-Benz hospitality.
