We understand that considering a move to electric often comes with many questions. We are experts in the electric vehicle sector with over 13 years of experience. Here are some common topics that our friendly and transparent team are here to help with.
Nissan LEAF 40kWh has a WLTP rated range of 168 miles on a single charge. Although this testing method is undertaken in real world conditions, in our experience, 120 miles is more realistic if you take average driving speeds and weather conditions into consideration.
Nissan LEAF 62kWh has a WLTP rated range of 239 miles on a single charge. In our experience, around 190 miles is more achievable and realistic.
In warmer weather at lower speeds, you can expect to achieve closer to the WLTP rated range. In the winter months, the car will use more power to heat up the cabin. Similarly, at faster speeds e.g. motorway driving, the car will use more power.
As an electric vehicle owner, you can benefit from cheap overnight electricity from as little as 12p/kWh. If you charged your Nissan LEAF using a Home Charging Unit for four hours on this tariff, it would cost you around £3.17. In a 40kWh Nissan LEAF, this would equate to roughly 70% of the battery, or around 85 miles. Therefore, the cost per mile is around 3.5 pence. Although energy prices have risen in recent months, the cost to run an electric vehicle still remains considerably lower than a combustion engine. Check out the Nissan fuel saving calculator here.
Aside from lower 'fuel' costs, maintenance and servicing is also cheaper thanks to less moving parts. Until April 2025, you can also enjoy zero road tax on zero emission vehicles. At Nissan, we provide an 8 year / 100,000-mile lithium-ion battery capacity warranty.
