Honda has officially unveiled its latest compact electric vehicle, the Super-N Prototype, at the Japan Mobility Show. This dynamic new model previews a production EV set to launch in Japan in 2026, followed by Great Britain and key Asian markets.
The Super-N Prototype represents Honda’s vision for transforming everyday mobility while preserving the brand’s trademark driving enjoyment. Built on the lightest platform within Japan’s N Series ‘Kei’ car range, the model was first shown as the Super EV Concept at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year.
With its wide, confident stance, blistered bumpers and distinctive aero ducts, the prototype delivers a bold, contemporary look. Inside, the cabin continues this sporty theme with blue-accented asymmetrical seats and a minimalist, horizontal dashboard, creating an environment crafted for agile and responsive driving.
One of the standout technologies in the Super-N Prototype is its new BOOST Mode. This feature increases power output while introducing virtual multi-gear shift control and Active Sound Control, enhancing driver engagement and delivering a level of excitement uncommon in a compact EV. Purpose-built displays and interior lighting sequences further elevate the immersive driving feel.
Rebecca Adamson, Head of Automobile, Honda UK, said:
“The Super-N Prototype promises to offer a great entry point to Honda EV ownership when it arrives in our market next year, building on the excitement we saw for the concept model at Goodwood this summer. By bringing Honda’s trademark ‘fun-to-drive’ performance to a compact all-electric model, we believe this is a unique proposition and we are excited for people to experience it from 2026.”
While Honda currently has no plans to introduce the Super-N to additional European markets, the model will play a key role in assessing future demand for small EVs across the region.
