EV Myth Busting

With so much information about electric vehicles and their capabilities, it can be hard to make a decision about whether an EV is right for you.

To help, we've busted some of the most common EV myths for you.

  • Myth: EV’s are slow – A few seconds behind the wheel of an EV is enough to debunk this myth. Electric Vehicles produce maximum torque at all revs, so only need one forward gear. Meaning instant, rapid acceleration.
  • Myth: EV’s are less safe in an accident – EV’s are subject to the same safety checks as any other vehicle, some studies have even shown EV’s to be safer as they are less likely to catch fire due to the lack of petrol or diesel.
  • Myth: There is nowhere to charge an EV – Most EV charging is done at home while you sleep, so you can just wake up and go with a ‘full tank’. If you do need to charge on the road, most vehicles have fast charging and you have the pick of the bunch with a constantly growing network of over 30,000 Public Charge Points in the UK – Many of which are free.
